Shri. P. Chidambaram, Hon'ble Union Minister of Finance inaugurated the Garment Training Unit II & Distributed the Placement Orders to the first batch of Rural BPL trainees in the Apparel Industry, the 24th November 2007 at the Alagappa University, Karaikudi. A few Knitwear units in Tirupur have also offered placement to the trainees.
In the said function, Shri. A. Sakthivel, President, Tirupur Exporters' Association and Chairman of APPTEX Manpower Development Services Limited and Shri. RCM Reddy, IAS, MD & CEO of IL&FS-CDI, New Delhi gave felicitations.
In the function, Shri. A. Sakthivel submitted a Memorandum to the Hon'ble Union Finance Minister for considering the measures to mitigate the problems arisen due to appreciation of rupee against dollar.
