Premium quality branded basic activewear marketer firm Gildan Activewear Inc reconfirmed its EPS guidance for its fiscal year ending October 2, 2005 and introduced guidance for its 2006 fiscal year. The Company has updated its guidance in order to be in a position to discuss its results and EPS projections at upcoming institutional investor conferences at which it is scheduled to present.
The Company expects to achieve or exceed its most recent guidance for diluted EPS for fiscal 2005 of U.S. $1.50, before the special charge recorded in the second quarter for the closure of Gildan's Canadian yarn-spinning facilities. For fiscal 2006, the Company is currently projecting diluted EPS of approximately U.S. $1.85 per share.
