Triumph eyes 5-yr target of Rs 4.5 bn turnover from India

As per a senior company official, Triumph, international brand for women's inner-wear has set a target of Rs 4.5 billion turnover, in the next five years, from the Indian market.

Continued the official, the firm with its presence across 120 countries, intends on investing about 7 percent of its international revenue in the Indian market.

With a shift in purchase trends from need-based to fashion-based, demand for branded and fashionable lingerie in India is slowly picking momentum. And with Triumph as the first-ever lingerie brand in India, company expects the turnover to reach over Rs 4.5 billion in the coming five years, informed, Thorsten Allenstein, Triumph International (India)'s Managing Director, to PTI.

As of now, the firm has introduced only two of its sub-brands in India, Triumph and Sloggi. Continued Allenstein that, since the company cannot directly invest in to the Indian market, due to the Foreign Direct Investment policy applicable in India, they are dependent on retail and franchisee routes for, sales of their goods.
