Nahar Spinning Mills Ltd proposes to enter non-woven fabric section by building a unit most probably next year.
Unit entails an investment of Rs 120 crore and will manufacture brands like 'Spunlace' and lint-free fabric in Mandideep, Bhopal.
It aims at enhancing exports and acheiving market leadership through diversification in a special area providing employment for 100-150 persons.
Also known as hydroentanglement, the spunlace process puts the fibre web through fine jets of water at high pressure. When the jets strike the web, it repositions and entangles the fibres into an interlocked spunlace web.
Subsequently, the web is dried. Spunlace products contain no chemical binders, and they have an excellent textile-like drape and softness, good mechanical and aesthetic properties, and a good power to absorb and wet.
Company is conducting market surveys on product demand, pricing etc. and then will establish set up the unit subsequently, informed Mahendra S Tyagi, Executive Director, Nahar Spinning Mills.
Considering high manufacturing cost of non-woven garments, the company is focusing on the European and American markets by exporting 70-75 percent of its production.
The company runs its unit with viscose fibre, polyester fibre and bleached cotton. However, power is the problem, cited Tyagi.
The Nahars have a 100 per cent export-oriented yarn-manufacturing unit in Mandideep.
