SGS Consumer Testing Services announced that it will be conducting a seminar about sourcing tactics for the fashion industry at the MAGIC conference that opens in Las Vegas. The "Smart Sourcing" session on Tuesday, February 15, will provide insight into how leading brands and retailers address the myriad quality, regulatory and cost challenges involved in navigating today's global supply chain.

Panelists will include Kris Arabia, Director of Softlines Sourcing and Technical Design, Disney Theme Parks; Aaron Johnson, Director of Global Quality Assurance, Orchard Brands; and Bryan Riviere, Head of Global Sourcing and Manufacturing, Lululemon Athletica. The 10 am seminar at the Las Vegas Convention Center will be moderated by Katherine Stein, SGS International Business Development Manager.

"Every apparel brand or retailer faces dozens of sourcing decisions every day: how do you find the right business partner? what do you do when you've been sourcing from a market like China where the labor prices are rising? how do you manage quality in a new factory, communicate with your partners overseas, or find a factory that's flexible enough to handle both small and large orders?" Stein said. "In this seminar, attendees will hear how some of the most respected members of the industry respond to issues like these to ensure smooth product delivery, regulatory compliance and firm cost control."

SGS offers a full range of testing, inspection, quality assurance and global compliance services for apparel companies, including care labeling, eco-testing, factory quality assessment, code of conduct assessment, final random and in-line inspection, and regulatory advisory services.
