Associations in Pakistan representing the value-added textile export sector have expressed concern over the delay by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) in announcing the procedure for applying duty drawback of taxes (DDT) claims under the revised prime minister’s export package 2017-18 more than a month after the order regarding the same was announced.
Pakistan Apparel Forum (PAF) chairman Muhammad Jawed Bilwani, Council of All Pakistan Textile Associations (CAPTA) chairman Zubair Motiwala, Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers & Exporters Association (PHMA) chairman Khurram Anwar Khawaja and the Pakistan Knitwear & Sweater Exporters Association (PAKSEA) chairman Kamran Chandna issued a joint statement recently on this issue.Associations in Pakistan representing the value-added textile export sector have expressed concern over the delay by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) in announcing the procedure for applying duty drawback of taxes (DDT) claims under the revised prime minister's export package 2017-18 more than a month after the order regarding the same was announced.#
They requested the prime minister to direct SBP and the textile ministry to issue the procedure at the soonest to boost the confidence of exporters.
Billions of rupees against previous orders pending with government should be released at the earliest as that is causing liquidity problems for exporters, they said, according to Pakistani media reports. (DS)
