Flexibility, high quality, strong supply-chain support and versatile products are the positives of manufacturing in China, while the negatives include rising cost of operations and punitive US tariffs on imports from China, according to Eddie Chan, CEO of Lever Style, a leading apparels supplier. The firm’s annual capacity is seven million pieces, he said.

By 2025, polarisation in the industry may result in further consolidation of the companies, horizontal and vertical integration and merger and acquisition activities may reduce the total number of suppliers, he told Fibre2Fashion in an interview. (DS)
