Sri Lanka's garment exports up 2.3% to $3 bn in Jan-Aug 2024

From January to August ****, textile exports from Sri Lanka saw a year-on-year decline of **.* per cent, totalling $***.* million. During the same period, exports of other made-up textile articles rose by *.* per cent, amounting to $**.* million, according to the Central Bank&#**;s report titled ‘External Sector Performance – August ****’.

The combined exports of textiles, garments, and other manufactured textile articles accounted for **.** per cent of all industrial exports from Sri Lanka during the reviewed period. Total textile product exports amounted to $*,***.* million between January and August ****, while Sri Lanka&#**;s overall industrial exports were valued at $*,***.* million for the same period.
