Swiss firm Fenix Outdoor's total income at €225.846 mn in Q3 FY23

Fenix Outdoor, a Switzerland-based group of outdoor brands, has reported a slight dip in total income for the third quarter of fiscal 2023 (Q3 FY23), recording €225.846 million, down by 0.9 per cent from €227.893 million in Q3 FY22. The group's EBITDA for the quarter stood at €51.416 million, a decline from the €55.943 million reported in the corresponding period last year.

The operating profit decreased to €37.391 million from €42.802 million in Q3 FY22. Before taxes, the profit was €35.828 million, down from €43.139 million, and the after-tax profit was €27.761 million, compared to €33.037 million in the previous year. This translated to earnings per B-share of €2.08, a decline from €2.48 in Q3 FY22, the company said in a media release.

For the cumulative first nine months of FY23, spanning from January 1 to September 30, 2023, Fenix Outdoor showcased a marginal increase in its total income. The group reported a total income of €565.862 million, marking a 0.4 per cent growth from €563.649 million in the same period in FY22. However, the EBITDA witnessed a drop, standing at €96.137 million compared to €110.042 million previously.

The operating profit for the first nine months of FY23 also saw a decline, settling at €54.565 million, down from €70.928 million in the previous year. The profit before tax was €54.685 million, a decrease from the €73.945 million reported in the first nine months of FY22. Post-tax profits stood at €38.811 million, a notable reduction from the previous year's €54.881 million. Reflecting these figures, the earnings per B-share for the period were €2.91, compared to the €4.12 in the same period in FY22.
