UK-based sports brand Trusox this week entered the Indian market by launching socks that will help improve performance of sportspersons on the field. Priced at ₹3,500 a pair, the socks, created by former footballer and coach Jim Cherneski, will be available on sale at Amazon and Trusox.in. The company will also explore tie-ups with sports retail stores.

Internationally, the Manchester-based company sells out of around 1,000 stores. In India, it has roped in cricketer Rohit Sharma as its brand ambassador, according to a news agency report.

The performance gear market in India has been growing at a fast clip of 12 per cent year-on-year and there is immense potential for growth, said Sanil Sachar, a co-owner of Trusox.

Sachar has invested close to $1 million in the company and expects 20 per cent of the company's global revenues from India in the next two years.

It sells around 800 pairs a day globally and around 45 per cent of the players in the English Premier League use Trusox, the company claims.
