Indian multi-brand value retailer V-Mart Retail plans to have around 205 stores by adding 35 stores by the end of this fiscal, according to company chairman and managing director Lalit Agarwal. It is penetrating the northeast region by opening four stores in Assam this month and plans to have 20 stores in that region in the next two years, he said.

With presence in 14 states now, the company will open two stores in October in Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya as well, Agarwal told a news agency.

The company had opened 31 stores in the last fiscal and operates around 182 stores at present. In fiscal 2017-18, it had a revenue of ₹1,222.37 crore.

Agarwal is optimistic about maintaining a 20-25 per cent annual growth rate. The company spends around ₹2 crore on a new store. (DS)
