The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has in principle agreed to offer 100 acres in Sector 28 for setting up a leather merchandise manufacturing park-cum-hub Greater Noida. YEIDA chief executive officer Arun Vir Singh recently met a delegation of leather merchandise manufacturers led by Moti Lal Sethi, regional chairman (North) of the Council for Leather Exports (CLE).

Singh asked Sethi to provide a list and detailed project report so that he could go ahead. The land will be allotted in Sector 28 of the region.

The proposed park will manufacture footwear, bags, apparel and accessories and have manufacturing units, a design centre, an exhibition convention centre, a labour and supervisor training institute and a common facility centre.

The park is likely to attract investments worth ₹4,000 crore, offer jobs to 50,000, and generate an annual turnover of around ₹3,000 crore.
Its proximity to the upcoming Jewar international airport will be another advantage, according to Indian media reports.
