Denim div of Crystal Intl releases sustainability report

Crystal International Group Limited, a leader in apparel manufacturing industry, announced that its denim division has published the sustainability report 2019, with the theme of “moving on to the next loop” to reflect its continuous dedication in working towards circularity throughout 2019. This is the 9th edition of Crystal Denim’s sustainability report. 
 
In conjunction with the Group sustainability report of Crystal, this report is to specially expound group’s efforts on driving sustainable denim.
 
With reference to the GRI Standards, the report covers sustainability strategies, key initiatives, achievement and performance of Crystal Denim and its factories in 2019.
 
Key highlights of the report are responsible manufacturing: moved towards 100 per cent BCI and Repreve certified fabric; obtained Recycled Claim Standard (RCS) and Organic Content Standard (OCS) blended standard; achieved verified Higg FEM outstanding score by all denim factories; and China denim factory was awarded The Integration of Informatisation and Industrialisation Management system, WWF Low Carbon Manufacturing Programme (LCMP) 2018 4th Platinum Award and The National Green Factory 2018.
 
The report also highlighted leading innovation and changes like: launched second life closed loop project to set a new standard for recycled denim; digitised product development process to suit customer requirements; initiated “4Zero” collection to have greener denim finishing processes; achieved outstanding results in Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) wastewater testing, in compliance with ZDHC MRSL; and joined Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) to enhance carbon transparency.
 
Crystal Denim will continue the sustainability journey through innovation, as well as connecting business excellence with the key pillars of environment, worker well-being and community caring.
