Genetic Los Angeles, a premium women's denim brand, has launched a programme to recycle old and unwanted jeans. Environmentally conscientious women wanting to put their old jeans for good use will apply to participate in Genetic's recycling programme. Under this initiative, any old pair of women's jeans will be recycled regardless of brand or condition.

Concerned about carbon footprint and the environment, Genetic LA makes effort to participate in polluting the planet at a minimum. The company based in US will give $30 off for a new pair of Genetic jeans in place of the unwanted pair of jeans. Thus collected old jeans will be redesigned and repurposed into tote bags and backpacks for homeless children at a monthly event.

Genetic LA has made constant effort to upgrade their manufacturing equipment to keep their Los Angeles California factory energy efficient. Having their own factory allows them to keep energy and water use at a minimum all the while reducing waste. Though Genetic LA uses outside laundries to wash their jeans, they only work with facilities that properly recycle water and keep chemical use at a minimum. (RR)
