Outdoor apparel retailer Patagonia has introduced PrimaLoft's Gold Insulation Eco, an eco friendly, premium synthetic insulation made with 55 per cent recycled content in its Nano Puff styles.

“Nano Puff styles now have a lighter environmental impact and the same performance benefits that have made the Nano Puff a go-to-piece for every outdoor activity,” the retailer said.

“With zero loss in performance, Gold Eco is still just as lightweight, compressible and warm even when wet and starting this fall, we will use it in all men's and women's Nano Puff styles,” Patagonia added.

By using Gold Eco in the Nano Puff styles, Patagonia will save two million plastic bottles from the landfill in the first year alone.

With the goal of making the biggest environmental impact possible, beginning in 2017 PrimaLoft will replace all of its Gold Insulation, wherever it's used, with the new 55 per cent recycled Gold Eco. (AR)
