South Korea's apparel imports dip 1% to $9.1 bn in Jan–Sept

Imports of knitted apparel and clothing accessories (Chapter **) were valued at $*.*** billion in the first nine months of ****, slightly higher than $*.*** billion in the corresponding period of the previous year. This marginal rise indicates stable demand for lightweight and casual knitwear segments, supported by South Korea’s strong athleisure and fast-fashion market.

Meanwhile, imports of non-knitted apparel and clothing accessories (Chapter **) totalled $*.*** billion, down *.** per cent from $*.*** billion in January–September ****. Weaker orders for formalwear and outerwear categories, coupled with shifting consumer preferences towards versatile and comfort-oriented apparel, contributed to the fall.
