Sri Lanka's garment exports ease 2.1% to $1,437 mn in Jan-Apr 2024

During January-April ****, textile exports from the island nation dropped by **.* per cent year-on-year, totalling $**.* million. The exports of other manufactured textile articles were valued at $**.* million during the same period, an increase of **.* per cent, as detailed in the bank&#**;s report titled &#**;External Sector Performance – April ****&#**;.

Exports of textiles, garments, and other manufactured textile articles collectively accounted for **.** per cent of all industrial exports from Sri Lanka during the reviewed period, the report indicated. All textile product exports summed up to $*,***.* million in January-April ****, while Sri Lanka&#**;s total industrial exports were $*,***.* million in the same period.
