Automotive Technology Systems, LLC (ATS) has announced that it will change its name on April 1, 2016 to Toyota Boshoku Illinois, LLC.
Opened in Lawrenceville, Illinois in 1999, ATS became wholly owned by Toyota Boshoku in 2008. Toyota Boshoku Illinois operates a two-shift schedule employing 950 team members at the growing Lawrenceville facility. All employees will remain with the company. It supplies multiple auto manufacturers with seats, doors, and carpets for several models of automobiles, according to a press release.
The Illinois location will soon complete a 126,000 square foot expansion project. The decision to expand and upgrade the plant will allow Toyota Boshoku Illinois to increase production, meeting the additional demand from auto manufacturers as well as consolidating the logistic functions into one location.
