Swiss automotive supplier Autoneum is anticipating stable revenue between CHF 2.3 and 2.5 billion (~$2.58 billion-$2.8 billion) in 2025 despite an expected stagnation in global automobile production. The company projects an EBIT margin between 5 per cent and 6 per cent and free cash flow of approximately CHF 100 million (~$112 million), excluding one-off merger and acquisition-related outflows.

The acquisition of Jiangsu Huanyu Group, completed in February 2025, is set to strengthen the company’s positioning in China, Autoneum said in a press release.

Financial performance in 2024

In 2024, Autoneum achieved a 4.2 per cent revenue increase in local currencies, outperforming the global automotive market, which contracted by 1.1 per cent. Despite a 2.9 per cent organic decline, inorganic growth—driven by the full-year consolidation of Borgers Automotive—led to total revenue reaching CHF 2,338.7 million (~2,572.57 million), up CHF 36.4 million from 2023.

The company significantly improved its profitability in 2024, with EBIT rising by CHF 25.7 million to CHF 125.0 million, reflecting an EBIT margin increased to 5.3 per cent in 2024, and achieved a net result of CHF 70.0 million.

Region-wise, Europe’s revenue in local currencies rose 9.8 per cent year-over-year (YoY), driven by strong inorganic growth. EBIT improved to CHF 57.4 million. North America’s revenue grew by 1.3 per cent in local currencies, with EBIT increasing significantly to CHF 31.9 million due to operational efficiencies. The revenue in Asia declined by 15.3 per cent, impacted by weaker demand from Western and Japanese automakers. EBIT remained robust at CHF 17.0 million. South America, Middle East, Africa (SAMEA) revenues grew by 14.4 per cent, with an EBIT margin of 14.2 per cent, reflecting strong inflation management.

In 2024, Autoneum achieved a record order intake of CHF 3.2 billion (~$3.52 billion), with significant contributions from its commercial vehicle segment. The company expanded its global research and development capabilities by establishing a specialised new mobility team and inaugurating a new research and technology centre in Shanghai, China, added the release.

Innovation and Sustainability Leadership

Autoneum continued its sustainability leadership, earning an EcoVadis Gold Medal for the second consecutive year. It expanded its recyclable product portfolio with 100 per cent polyester-based trunk side trims and new eco-friendly commercial vehicle panels. The company also played a key role in Renault’s low-emission Embleme project.
