A creative artist Valérie Kolakis from Canada has recycled these rugs into various rigid shapes by using fast set concrete. In a sense, this is a rebuilding of an "object" and contradicting its function.
"Untitled (Rug)" is a set of different-sized, rolled up and concrete-soaked rugs, leant against the wall and lying on the floor. These rugs were displayed during an event in February provoking much interest from attendees.
Phil Sutton of Econpro was pleased to be able to respond quickly to the request for assorted rugs in different sizes for use by the artist.
