To conclude the interview, we asked him to foresee the future of the carpet sector, to which he said, “As far as the future is concerned, I am confident that it will be quite good as our council is making best possible efforts, and we will confidently be able to grab a share of machine made carpets. In the Carpet Export Promotion Council, we are conducting massive programmes on brand promotion of Indian handmade carpets in worldwide markets. We are starting from the markets of US and EU and thereafter, to other markets. We have presently 2.5 million people engaged in our industry and we hope to double it to 5 million in the next five years time, as such, there is no second thought about future of our handmade carpet industry”.
