Wool Equities, the farmer owned investment company, is offering support to an enterprise for selling hand-crafted New Zealand wool rugs in the United States.

A subsidiary company, formed by Wool Equities, is likely to collaborate with the Romney New Zealand sheep breed organization.

Romney is linked with US based Elders' Just Shorn wool carpet and it will utilise the same retail chain, the International Design Guild or IDG.

Sales of these rugs in the US will prove to be beneficial for an association that has been facing problems due to dearth in funds, stated Cliff Heath, Chairman Wool Equities.

Shipment orders for rugs have been placed for around 120 IDG stores in US, which are currently being manufactured in Nepal.
