Biesterfeld & Songwon expand polymer additives distribution in Europe

Biesterfeld and Songwon have expanded their partnership, adding Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, and Romania to Biesterfeld's distribution network for polymer additives.
The range, including SONGNOX antioxidants and SONGSORB UV absorbers, serves industries from automotive to packaging, building, cables, and agriculture.

International distributor Biesterfeld and global chemical company Songwon are expanding their long-standing partnership. With immediate effect, Biesterfeld will also distribute the joint portfolio of plastic additives, including antioxidants and light stabilizers, in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, and Romania. The distributor already holds the distribution rights for the products in Germany, France, Italy, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Switzerland, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, the Czech Republic, Turkey, and Hungary.

The polymer additives are used in a wide variety of applications where plastics need to be protected from degradation by heat, light, oxygen, or mechanical stress. The most important product lines include SONGNOX antioxidants, which protect polymers during processing and end use by maintaining critical physical properties such as mechanical stability and color. SONGSORB UV absorbers effectively protect organic materials from degradation by light, significantly extending the service life of plastic applications. In addition, the range includes SONGNOX OPS (One Pack Systems) and SONGXTEND stabilizer solutions, which offer optimal and customized solutions for a wide variety of applications.

One of the areas of application for these products is mobility. Here, the additives are used, for example, in bumpers, headlight housings, and interior components such as dashboards and textile fibres. The materials also contribute to the protection of plastics in the packaging and building & construction sectors, for example in food packaging, stretch and shrink films, multilayer packaging, roofing films, pipes, and PVC window frames. The product families are also used in cable sheathing, plastic housings of all kinds, and greenhouse films.
