Gazechim acquires Brenntag Química's Spain liquid chlorine gas biz

From [e.g., 10 April 2025], the liquid chlorine gas distribution in Spain will be operated by Gazechim’s subsidiary Gruppo Gas Iberica. As a specialty gas distributor Gruppo Gas Iberica already operates one of Spain’s main chlorine distribution center in Flix.

The acquisition of the chlorine distribution business of Brenntag expand Gruppo Gas Iberica presence in Spain.

Gruppo Gas Iberica will continue to operate distribution of chlorine from Brenntag Seville Plant on top of its main platform of Flix.

“With this acquisition we are pleased to confirm our commitments towards the supply of liquid chlorine gas for the production of potable water in Spain, for the treatment of water in swimming pools and support key industrial applications. Our two logistics platforms will be a unique setup to ensure supply of liquid chlorine in Spain” said Jacques Sturm, Managing Director of the Gas Division of Gazechim Group.
