  • The partnership will deploy robotic inspection solutions at BASF sites and co-develop advanced materials for robotic components, supporting lightweight, intelligent and customised designs for next-generation industrial applications.
BASF and Sevnce Robotics have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration between the robotic industry and the chemical sector. Through the partnership, both companies aim to advance the smart and sustainable transformation of the chemical industry.

Under the MoU, BASF and Sevnce Robotics will explore potential applications of Sevnce’s robotic and intelligent inspection solutions at BASF sites. The collaboration supports the chemical industry’s ongoing digitalisation and automation journey, with a particular focus on safety-critical applications.

In parallel, both sides will advance materials innovation for key robotic components. Leveraging BASF’s leading expertise in performance materials such as Engineering Plastics, Thermoplastic Polyurethanes and Polyurethane Systems, the collaboration will focus on lightweight design for quadruped and humanoid robots, supporting performance optimisation and continuous product improvement.

“We are greatly encouraged by the vibrant development of China’s smart manufacturing industry,” said Dr. Jeffrey Lou, Chairman and President of BASF Greater China. “BASF looks forward to deepening strategic cooperation with Sevnce Robotics, focusing on digital transformation and safe production scenarios in the chemical industry. We will also drive material innovation for core robotic components, advancing robotic solutions toward enhanced safety, lightweight design, intelligence and customisation, while continuously expanding their application scope and market reach.”

Zhu Dong, Chairman of Sevnce Robotics stated, “We are deeply honoured to have established a strategic partnership with BASF, a global leader in the chemical industry. This signing marks a new phase in our relationship. Moving forward, we will promote the large-scale application of Sevnce Robotics intelligent inspection solutions across BASF’s global sites. Leveraging the strengths of Sevnce Robotics products and technical services, and combining with BASF's material innovation capabilities, we aim to explore the integration of new materials and intelligent devices, focusing on lightweight and biomimetic design of robots. Together, we will empower the high-quality upgrading of industries.”
