Just one year after its successful start-up, the facility is now operating steadily at routine capacity, underscoring the strong performance of this proprietary C2 based technology.
Röhm is the only company in the United States producing MMA using this highly efficient C2 process. The state-of-the-art plant combines advanced process design with extensive automation technology, an interplay that ensures safe, stable, and quality focused operations. Since start-up, the plant has consistently delivered MMA of reliably high product quality.
Following commissioning, operations were gradually ramped up, supported by extensive validation and continuous process optimization. Reaching full capacity significantly strengthens Röhm’s position in the North American market and advances the company’s ‘In the Region, for the Region’ strategy. This strategy aims to ensure supply security for local customers through production facilities in the major economic regions of the USA, China, and Europe. With full production capabilities, the Bay City site can now reliably meet domestic demand while flexibly serving international markets.
Planned Turnaround in the Second Quarter
As part of site operator Oxea’s planned turnaround in the second quarter, the LiMA plant will also be taken offline for scheduled maintenance. This planned measure is intended to secure the site’s long term operational safety and efficiency.
