  • RCT Hydrogen has begun ramping up electrolyser production in Germany, with stack manufacturing set to start in Thuringia in Q1 2026 for megawatt-scale industrial projects.
  • Using alkaline pressurised technology, the plant will have planned capacity of up to 250 MW per year.
  • The company is also promoting a Hydrogen-as-a-Service model to offer fixed-price green hydrogen without upfront investment.

RCT Hydrogen has begun ramping up production of electrolyser plants in Germany. From the first quarter (Q1) of 2026, the company will manufacture electrolyser stacks in Thuringia, supplying initial megawatt-scale projects targeting industrial customers across Europe.

The move signals a shift towards localised hydrogen equipment manufacturing, aimed at improving cost efficiency and deployment speed for green hydrogen projects.

The Thuringia facility will focus on alkaline pressurised electrolyser technology, chosen for its durability and efficiency. Once fully operational, the plant is expected to reach a planned production capacity of up to 250 megawatt (MW) per year, enabling support for medium- and large-scale green hydrogen installations.

Beyond manufacturing, RCT Hydrogen is advancing a Hydrogen-as-a-Service business model, allowing industrial users to access green hydrogen at predictable, fixed prices without the need for upfront capital investment in infrastructure.

“With strong partnerships across Europe, advanced process control solutions, and a robust manufacturing setup in Germany, we are ready to support the transition from grey to green hydrogen across Europe,” the company said in a LinkedIn post.
