Spanning 100,000 square metres in the West Qantara Industrial Zone, the factory will create 5,000 jobs and aims to produce 30 million garments annually, as per media reports.
This is Eroglu Global Holding's second investment in the West Qantara Industrial Zone, headed by Turkish businessman Nurettin Eroglu. They are also building another garment factory in the area with an investment exceeding $40 million. This facility is expected to generate 2,000 jobs, with trial operations scheduled to begin in April. Furthermore, plans for a second phase of expansion are being considered, which would bring the total project investment to $180 million.
With a total investment of $511 million, the first phase of development in the West Qantara Industrial Zone has already attracted 12 projects, said Walid Gamal El-Din, chairman of SCZONE. In a period of 20 months, these projects have created more than 21,500 job opportunities.
He also pointed out that West Qantara has become a crucial hub for the textiles, garments, and food industries, benefitting from its strategic location close to major ports in Port Said and Sokhna, which connect to both regional as well as international markets.
