The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has announced that it has given the green light to four new investment projects worth around $22 million. The CDC issued investment project registration certificates to the companies after they sought to invest in setting up factories manufacturing garments and shoes.

The CDC announced on its Facebook page that Phoenix Fashion (Cambodia) Garment Co Ltd, Aw Cashmere (Cambodia) Co Ltd, Supercan (Cambodia) Co Ltd, and Xn Fu Industrial Co Ltd were issued the registration certificates, as per several local media reports.

Phoenix Fashion and Aw Cashmere will invest $6.3 million and $5.3 million respectively to build garment factories in the Bati District in Takeo. The former will provide employment opportunities to 3,358 people and the latter will provide jobs to 1,117 locals.

Supercan will construct a shoe factory in Khan Dangkor, Phnom Penh at an investment of $5.2 million, leading to jobs for 1,264 individuals. Xn Fu Industrial Co Ltd is expected to spend $5.1 million to build a factory in Kampong Cham, which could help create 641 jobs.
