France's clothing-footwear prices fall by 10.9% MoM, 3.4% YoY in Jul

The prices of clothing and footwear in France fell by 10.9 per cent month on month (MoM) in July after a 0.3 per cent rise in June. Prices for that product category rose by 3.4 per cent year on year (YoY) in July after a 4.9 per cent rise in June—partly due to the extension of the sales period.

The country’s consumer price index (CPI) increased by 0.1 per cent MoM in July after a 0.2 per cent rise in June.

The prices of manufactured goods decreased by 2.3 per cent in July after rising by 0.1 per cent in June. The prices of energy also decreased by 2 per cent in the month after a 0.1 per cent rise in June.

Seasonally-adjusted, consumer prices were stable in July this year, as in June. Consumer prices grew by 4.3 per cent year on year (YoY) in July, after rising by 4.5 per cent YoY in June. Core inflation decreased YoY, reaching 5 per cent in July, an official release said.

The prices of energy decreased by 3.7 per cent YoY in July after falling by 3 per cent YoY in June. Manufactured good prices increased by 3.4 per cent YoY in July after rising by 4.2 per cent YoY in June.
