Fifty pieces of cloth, which have been discovered over the past few years at Burnt City, prove the presence of textiles in 3200 BC, reported the local media.
The pieces also prove that the city was a home to the largest collection of textiles.
During the ninth stage of excavation, a workshop was found with several rooms full of textiles, earthenware and seals, informed Mansur Sajjadi, Director of the team of archaeologists at the city.
From the architecture of this workshop, it seems that the rooms were used as a warehouse in those days, he stated.
The discovered textiles can also throw light on the process of weaving and knitting from that era, said Sajjadi.
