Bolivia’s National Public Sector Textile Enterprise Enatex is all set to launch new clothing line ‘You’ for the domestic market, with a production of about 70,000 garments.

The official launch of the new apparel line would take place on July 15 in La Paz, to coincide with the city’s anniversary, Enatex manager Alejandro Zarate said while opening of a new sales agency in the city of Cochabamba.

Subsequently, the new line would be launched in Santa Cruz and Cochabamba, and other cities, which would also involve opening of new stores.

The garments under the ‘You’ line are made of 100 percent cotton and are designed to meet the taste and fashion needs of men, women and children, Mr. Zarate said.

The line consists of various patterns and designs in different colours with buttons and neck styles.

Enatex started operating as a public company a little over a year ago and the firm has already exported garments to Uruguay, Mexico and Brazil.

Enatex, which employs about 1,700 workers, has also signed a US$ 1.5 million agreement to supply eight tons of yarn, 60 tons of fabric and about five containers of clothing to the Cuban market.

At present, about 35 percent of Enatex’s production is meant for domestic consumption. The first clothing line launched in April this year with about 39,000 pieces were sold in less than a month, and subsequently the company has undertaken to produce another 180,000 pieces of apparel.
