Cambodian Government has banned the wearing of swimsuits during the Miss Cambodia Contest in order to protect Cambodian culture.
Cambodia, socially conservative Buddhist nation, is going to hold the contest after a long gap of over a decade and one of the conditions put by the Government was that swimsuits would not be allowed on the stage.
The winner of the contest, which is scheduled in December, will receive a cash prize of US $969 and a ticket for the next year's Miss Universe contest.
