During January-August 2006 period, textile and apparel industry reaped US $37 million from exporting 7.8 million sweaters, representing year–on–year rise of 41 and 65 percent in terms of value and volume, respectively.
Among all importing markets of the product, EU remained the top export market at around $16 million, up by 90 percent in both terms of value and volume as compared to the same period last year.
The export is expected to continue steady growth in the coming times, trading experts opined.
