Witnessing sheer drop after the elimination of global quota system, the heart of Cambodian economy, garment sector is pumps to a new life.

The garment sector earnings reach $US 1.9 billion, which accounts over 80 percent of the country's export earnings and employs around 270,000 people.

After end of the quota system in January, the initial months were crucial for the sector, as the major orders shifted to textile giant China.

However, by the month of May, the US imposed quotas on seven types of textile products that provided a breathing space for local garment industry.

US buy over three-quarters of Cambodia's exports. The rest of the total production is been purchased by the European Union.
