Tailors strike in Ara since February 14 has resulted into many shops downing shutters, affecting badly hundreds of people wanting to get their clothes stitched in time for wedding or some other occasion.
Families have now to rely on readymade garments or travel to Patna to get their clothes stitched.
The, say they have no choice.
Said Mozahid Ansari, who has been working at a tailoring shop in Ara town for the last 12 years: Owners have been exploiting tailors, locally known as karigars like bonded labourers making them work for over 10 hours a day without even appreciating their creativity, said a Karigar.
Shops selling cloth, thread and buttons have also been affected by the strike.
The striking tailors have sought the intervention of the District administration have been approached by the striking tailors to impress upon tailoring shop owners to fulfil their demands.
Earlier attempts to resolve the matters between tailors and their employers have not succeeded.
There is expectation for some of their demands getting accepted due to festival of Holi which is just 10 days away with heavy rush anticipated to get new clothes stitched.
