Wuhan Institute of Textile Technology and Materials Institute has successfully developed a brand-new single-way perspiration wool fabric for sportswear, which is more smooth and softer than ordinary wool fabrics.
Usual conception about wool fabrics is that they are used to stay warm. But now, pure wool fabrics can be used to make sportswear that is light, airy and sweat-absorbing.
According to experts, regarding the performance of water absorption (Sweat-absorbent), wearing micro-climate (Regulation of body surface temperature, humidity, comfort), wool is better than most of the existing materials. Water absorption rate of wool can reach over 30 percent, while that of cotton is only around 8 percent.
The research group through special techniques has solved two major problems of wool materials, that is, the irritating itchiness and rapid shrinkage after wash. Now the feel is even softer and silky.
This new single-way perspiration technique helps keep the skin side of sportswear dry for a long time.
