The new ultra-sophisticated plant will allow some 140,000 suit jackets to be produced annually, doubling the facility's current capacity.

"We are particularly proud of our plant, which is one of Canada's most advanced clothing manufacturing facilities and allows us to produce high quality ready-to-wear garments within exceptional timeframes," added Mr. Fortin.

The new facilities complement the company's existing plant, in operation since 1992, which produces 70,000 suit jackets annually. Vêtements Cookshire originally specialized in the production of suit jackets for women.

A client of the company since 2001, in 2004 Boutique Tristan & Iseut acquired Cookshire. Prior to the current expansion project, the plant employed 74 people.
