While global sports brands focus on sportswear meant for high-intensity workouts, the Satva India activewear brand is not designed for high-impact exercise, but targets consumers looking for options to engage in low-intensity exercises and lounging in, according to Rina Nathani, head, global retail, Suminter India Organics, the brand’s parent company.

Suminter India Organics is one of the world's largest exporters of certified organic raw material and cotton globally. This cotton is used in Satva’s apparel.

Satva is targeting a market that understands, or is keen to understand, what organic clothing can do for them and for the planet. This is a very niche audience, which, hopefully, will grow with time, Nathani told Fibre2Fashion in an interview. (DS)
