The imports were noted at $187.769 million in April this year, which improved to $213.160 million in May 2022, according to Fibre2Fashion’s market insight tool TexPro.
The US’ imports of babywear had declined to $1.841 billion in 2020 from $2.213 billion in 2019. They were valued at $2.414 billion in 2021, as per TexPro.
The country’s imports of the products were worth $620.898 million from China in 2021 which was 25.71 per cent of its total babywear imports. They amounted to $365.734 million (15.15 per cent) from Vietnam, $360.544 million (14.91 per cent) from India, $352.026 million (14.58 per cent) from Cambodia and $249.681 million (10.34 per cent) from Bangladesh. These top five supplier countries collectively shipped around 80 per cent of the babywear to the US.
