About 12,659 garment companies of China earned a combined operating revenue of 1.33 trillion yuan (approximately $209.48 billion) during January to November 2021, recording a 7.7 per cent YoY growth, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). The country’s garment industry reported a growth in production, revenue and profits.The companies collectively had a profit of 66.7 billion yuan, up 12.6 per cent year over year (YoY), while combined output rose 8.5 per cent YoY to 21.3 billion pieces in the first 11 months of 2021.
The country’s total exports of garments and accessories reached $154.4 billion in January to November 2021, increasing by 25.1 per cent compared to the same period in 2020, as per the MIIT data.
