France's CPI for clothing-footwear rises 2.5% YoY, 5.3% MoM in Sept

The consumer price index (CPI) in France fell by 0.5 per cent in September this year over a month, after 1 per cent in August. Year on year (YoY), consumer prices went up by 4.9 per cent in September, as in August, according to the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE).

The clothing and footwear index in September stood at 107.45—a 2.5 per cent growth YoY and a 5.3 per cent rise month on month (MoM).

The prices of energy slowed down over a month from 6.6 per cent in August to 2 per cent in September. These prices increased by 11.9 per cent YoY in September after 6.8 per cent in August.

Seasonally adjusted, consumer prices grew over a month by 0.3 per cent in September after 0.8 per cent in August.

YoY core inflation was stable: 4.6 per cent in September.
