CPI for clothing and footwear (50.85 per cent YoY rise and 9.60 per cent MoM rise) was the main group that indicated the lowest annual increase and the highest monthly increase in the month.
In May, within indices of 143 basic headings, the index of 23 basic heading decreased and the index of six basic headings remained unchanged; the index of 114 basic headings increased, a Turkstat release said.
CPI excluding unprocessed food, energy, alcoholic beverages, tobacco and gold rose by 3.77 per cent MoM and 72.99 per cent YoY in May. It rose by 23.05 per cent on the December 2023 figure and by 66.53 per cent on the twelve-months moving averages basis.
