The new facility, scheduled to be completed in 2014, will be constructed at a cost of US$ 20 million in Bugang, in South Korea, where the company already has a unit for production of glass-mat thermoplastic (GMT) composites.
At the new plant, the company will manufacture its 'Superlite' brand of LWRT composites for the transportation and industrial markets.
The company decided to invest in raising its production capacity of LWRT composites in view of the increased global demand for the same.
The new facility will enable the company to provide a consistent supply of LWRT composite materials in the Asian region.
Hanwha Azdel said the global demand for composites is expected to increase at 7-10 percent a year till 2020.
