Last week of June posts record US cotton import volumes

The data for the week of June 24-30, 2011 showed that the net contract volume of cotton imports from US totaled 94,000 tons, which is the highest ever recorded during the same period in history.

Of the above, the volume of contracts already signed accounted for 87,000 tons, which is also the highest ever for the same period.

China's total contract volume of US cotton for next year amounted to 501,000 tons, as on June 30, 2011, which is double the volume during the corresponding period last year, also a historical record.
