Exports of cotton from Azerbaijan on a downhill

Exports of cotton from Azerbaijan have been on a downhill with each passing month in the current year.

In the month of July, the country exported cotton totaling to $1.1 million, versus $1.1 million in June, $2.4 million in May, $2.2 million in April and $3.7 million in March, according to the Azerbaijan State Customs Committee.

In the first seven months of 2011, cotton exports stood at $15.88 million, up 1.74 times, from the same period in 2010. In 2010, the country exported 3,738.2 tons of cotton amounting to $5.24 million.
