A conference to discuss Vietnamese cotton market will be held in Ho Chi Minh City on September 30, 2011. Representatives of Vietnamese textile industry will exchange their views with a visiting delegation from the US cotton industry.
The US delegation will be headed by Mr. David Collins, Executive Director of Cotton Council International. It will also have representatives from the American Cotton Producers, Cotton Incorporated, American Cotton Shippers Association and American Cotton Marketing Cooperative.
The conference is expected to discuss several issues related to production, demand and supply of cotton in Vietnam, the US and the world. The Vietnamese side is likely to benefit from the knowledge of US cotton varieties and their region-wise characteristics, and the US experiences of exporting, marketing and managing their supply chain.
A focus of the conference would also be on dynamics of cotton yarn and fabrics. In addition, there would be a panel discussion on managing fluctuations throughout the supply chain.
