Rates Committee of the Karachi Cotton Association informs that grade spot cotton prices were fixed today at Rs 2375 per maund while that of Staple Margin cotton were fixed at Rs 2545 per maund.
Cotton seeds from Punjab (RYK) were set at Rs 400 per 40 kgs. Unsold stocks as on 1.1.2006 stood at 2,668,502 bales. In another development, an EPB's Circular No. EPB (COTTON)/ CRC/2006 dated 07-01-2006 on the subject is reproduced below for the information of the cotton trade. “It is to inform you that the EPB Section / Branch dealing with the Registration Export Contracts of Cotton has been shifted from old CCI & E Building, Behind Civic Centre, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi, to Mezzanine Floor, Block “A” , FTC Building, Shahrah-e-Faisal, Karachi.”
