Chinese cotton supply expected to be stable in 2012

According to statistics, cotton production in China is expected to be around 6.6 million tons in the current season.

Cotton procurement under the state reserves purchases for the 2011-12 season, is nearing its end.

As of February 28, state's cumulative acquisition of cotton was 2.678 million tons and is expected to touch 3 million tons by March 31.

Considering the European debt crisis, cotton usage in China is expected to fall from the earlier anticipated 10 million tons.

Considering the above, cotton supply situation is expected to be stable in 2012.
