Zimbabwean cotton ginners have not been able to arrive at a consensual figure for the minimum cotton price to be paid to farmers.
To end the deadlock, both parties are meeting government officials to arrive at an agreeable price.
On one hand, cotton ginners are offering US 35 cents per kg for the lowest quality of cotton, on the other, farmers are demanding a minimum price of 50 cents per kg.
Cotton farmers have accused buyers of reducing cotton prices by more than 150 percent, than what was offered at the beginning of last season.
